11/18/07- Matthew stands up by himself!

Matthew is 16 months old and finally stood up by himself two days ago! He cruises, walks while holding our hand and pushes his ride-on toys, but has no interest in walking by himself. We were out in the driveway and he didn't like the feel of concrete on his knees. So...he just stood up! We all clapped and carried on like crazy people! You'd think we had won the lottery :o) He stood up and down for about 10 minutes, took a few steps and SAID, "YEA!" while clapping!
GOBBLE! GOBBLE!

Jonathan & Emily are home from school this week for Thanksgiving and we've been busy decorating the house for Christmas! I've been cleaning and organizing, which is a never ending task. My goal is to have everything clean and in order before December 15th! It seems like the holidays fly by so fast and I never get to really enjoy all that Christmas brings. Maybe this year I will actually bake goodies, instead of relying on Betty Crocker?!? And, maybe...just maybe...I will get a chance to sit on the couch, while sipping Hot Cocoa and watching a movie! Wooohooo!

Jonathan's Activities (1st Grade): Tiger Cubs, Soccer at church, Mileage Club at school and Basketball. His favorite sport so far is basketball and he's actually quite good at shooting baskets and dribbling!

Emily's Activities (Pre-K): Ballet and Gymnastics - She started Gymnastics in the beginning of October and has come so far in such a short time! She LOVES it! I love that she "thinks" she's doing everything perfectly and her face is full of pride! She has almost mastered a cartwheel and can do a hand stand against the wall - We've gone from acting silly on the floor to actually paying attention to the Coach!

Matthew's Activities: Exploring, climbing onto and into things (like somehow climbing on top of our piano), getting into Emily's things, playing with Little People figures (he actually pretends that they "talk" and moves them in and out of the houses, cars, etc.) and cruising around the house!
