Jonathan & Emily were a tad freaked out, but thankfully I had time to explain what was happening. Emily was more upset that the Easter Bunny might not come??? Ha! Ha! Jonathan has more empathy than most adults, so he was crying and worried about Mommy (althoug he HAD to see the inside of the ambulance). Brooke took them out for the night and all was okay on their end.
The ER was very busy and the waiting room was packed (according to Ed), but I was in a room within 15 minutes, if that. One of the nurses looked identical to my cousin, Bonnie - Only she had brown hair - They even had the same mannerisms! Needless to say, she was wonderful! Anyway, I had x-rays taken, ultrasound, blood work and a CT scan - My heart rate and blood pressure were perfect all night! WHY DOES THAT ALWAYS HAPPEN? Just like taking a car in and the mechanic finds nothing wrong! Then, the minute you pull out, the car starts making THAT noise! Aaargh!!! All my tests were perfect, so they let me go at 3:00am - I'll need to get a heart monitor from my doctor this week. It could be stress/anxiety...It could be the flu. I just hope I am feeling better SOON because I am sick and tired of feeling sick and tired :o(
Highlights from the night:
- Ed helped me to the bathroom (I had an IV) - When it was his turn to go, he farted sooooooo LOUD! The people just outside the bathroom definitely heard him. I was mortified...He thought it was hilarious!
- Ed kindly snuck in some chips and a coke - I was trying to be discreet while eating them. When the doctor came in , I tried to pass them off to Ed: "Can you take your chips?" Ed replies, "Are you finished with them?" Thanks for helping me out there, pal.
- Ed fell asleep with his head on the little sink...With the faucet drip, drip, dripping on his head :o(
- The nurse (Bonnie look-alike) and I had a great conversation about boobs while she was hooking me up to the monitor - Ed piped in on that one!
- The side table on wheels that was next to Ed had the initials "E.D." on the legs. I politely told him not to label the furniture as we would be charged.
- CODE POOP! The nurses had to change two full poopy blow outs in another room (No! Not mine) - The station was right in front of my cubby, so I could see them gagging and tearing up. Someone opened a package of coffee for all to sniff. Apparently, coffee masks the odor of feces??? I'll have to try it - Maybe I'll use it as potpourri in the bathrooms?
- Ed parked 50 miles away and we had to walk the perimeter of the hospital at 3:00 am to the parking garage. Needless to say, I was not very happy. And Ed was not happy with my attitude.
